Lacking Self-Perception

Humans believe
We are unique in our excellence.

Like plague rats;
Every advantage adds to our appetite.

Blindness increases in the glare of our splendor.
Arrogance goose steps over all.
We could cost everything,
We prime predators.

Disloyalty now
Is not treason,
But whispers
That humans might grow to respect the rest.
